Not sure what to say?

Thor, you will be so dearly missed. You truly knew how to make people smile. You lit up a room every time and where ever you were. Your love for everyone especially your family was unconditional. I am so glad that we had the chance to really know you. You were like a son to us and I am thankful that we were able to be part of each other's lives. You and Trevor may have gave me gray hairs, but i would'nt chage a thing!! Rest easy son you will never be forgotten ❤

Thor was one of my "favorite" people. It's hard to digest the passing of someone the same age as my own children. I truly feel he's in a better place, pain free, sharing hugs and kindness with everyone and reunited with those who passed before him. He just beat us there, much earlier than anyone could have expected. Blessings to his family and friends that they may be comforted and supported by those of us still here, walking the path and praying the prayers. God Bless.

I didn’t know Thor extremely well but every time I was around him he always said hi and was always smiling. You will be missed Thor by so many!!

Offering our deepest sympathies at this time.

Thor's Obituary

Thor James Kappers, 32 years young, passed away on January 24, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Thor was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin, to his mother, Stacy Kusel (Kruk), and his father, James Kappers Jr., and grew up alongside his sister, Amanda Rapp (Kappers). From the very beginning, Thor lived a life filled with passion and a deep love for his people. He showed up when his name was called — and often when it wasn’t. A true friend to many, Thor would drop anything at a moment’s notice to help another soul. He lived with an open heart and an uncommon loyalty that left a lasting mark on everyone he met.

Above all, Thor was a loving and devoted father to Wyatt and Reese. He delighted in their growth, their personalities, and the joy they brought into his life. He was a born tradesman, known for his grit, humor, and ability to keep any job site moving—filling it with laughter while getting things done.

To the very end, Thor’s personality shined through. But nothing shined brighter than his love for the love of his life, Taylor. He walked through more hardship than most ever should, facing it with strength and grace.

Thor was surrounded by countless friends and family who stood beside him throughout this war with cancer—too many to name, but each deeply appreciated. He leaves behind a legacy of love, grit, tenacity, and smiles everywhere he went.

Watching Thor fight with such strength and grace, even as he prepared to reunite with his loved ones, brought both heartbreak and comfort. We find peace in knowing he is now reunited with his grandparents, James “Bud” Kappers Sr., Sandra Kappers, and Jerome “Jerry” Kruk; his father, James Gilbert Kappers Jr.; and ultimately his Father in Heaven.

We will celebrate Thor’s life on May 30, 2026, beginning with a bags tournament at 10:00 a.m. at Pop’s Pub, followed by a Celebration of Life gathering at 2:00 p.m. The celebration will continue at Danny Haskell’s, with raffles and fundraising efforts benefiting his children beginning at 4:00 p.m.

Your prayers and presence are deeply appreciated.
