Thurman Faulcon was born in Halifax County, North Carolina, on February 19, 1961 to the late Horace and Virginia Faulcon. He departed this earthly life on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at ECU Health, Greenville, North Carolina.
Thurman received his education in the public schools of Halifax County. He worked as a skilled carpenter and landscaper. His hobbies included fishing, riding his lawn mower, and was always known as the life of the party. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved soulmate, Alice Hawkins; and one brother-in-law, Edward Banks.
Those left to cherish his memories are his siblings, Horace Lee Faulcon (Carolyn), Linda Webb (Reginald), and Brenda F. Banks, all of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews; a flood of friends; and his best friend that he referred to as his brother, Sidney Silver; as well as his chosen family: he chose Alice and her six children who welcomed him into their lives for over thirty years, Tyra Hawkins, Laura Jones, Angela Evans (Kevin), William Hawkins, Jr. (Cetta), Anita Howard (Brice), Michael Hawkins, Landers Hawkins and Marion Hawkins. He was the best “Papa” as they so affectionately called him, to ten granddaughters. In addition, he has three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 2:00 pm at First Church of Deliverance, 108 Highway 158, Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. Burial followed in the Faulcon Family Cemetery, Huckleberry Bottom Road, Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. A Public Viewing was held one hour prior to the funeral service from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm.
