Timmy Leon Proffitt, Sr. 67, of Lerona died Friday, December 14, 2018 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born March 13, 1951 in Bluefield he was the son of the late Wilson “Pug” Proffitt and Lois Proffitt. Timmy was a veteran of the US Army and served during Vietnam War. He retired as a courier from Electronic Data Services. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Duane Fitzhugh Proffitt and one nephew, Michael Proffitt. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Iris Tabor Proffitt of Lerona; one son, Timmy L. Proffitt, Jr. of Lerona; one daughter, Tonya Michelle Proffitt of Lerona; seven grandchildren, Autumn, Zachery, Jaden, Kaila, Jessica, Sabra, and Temperance; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Jane Proffitt of Concord, NC; and two brothers, Bucky Proffitt and wife Billie of Bluefield, and Wilson Proffitt and wife Sharon of Bluefield. In keeping with Timmy’s wishes his body has been cremated. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 6:00 PM Saturday, December 22, 2018, at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with family and friends serving as Eulogists followed by the WV National Guard Honor Guard conducting military rites. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 PM to the service hour on Saturday.
