Timothy Lee Lovern, 60, of Canada, KY went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on March 16, 2026, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born on March 13, 1966, in Pikeville, KY. He was the son of the late John Cephis and Edith Marie Lovern. He is also preceded in death by his brothers William Douglas Willie Lovern and John Edward Pete Lovern. He is survived by his sister Susie (Roy) Harrison of Stone, KY and brother Andy (Lisa) Lovern of Hardy, KY. He is also survived with a bonus family, Martha Hatfield of Stone, KY, Doug (Angie) Hatfield of Hardy, KY, and Jon Hatfield of Stone, KY. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Tim is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Barbara Ann. Tim cherished and loved Barbara more than any man could love a wife. Together they built the perfect life. They raised and loved two children of whom he was undeniably proud of, Timmy Lovern (Deven Runyon) of Canada, KY and Amanda Lovern (Williamson, WV). He is also survived by his grandson, whom he adored, Connor Isaiah Lovern and two bonus babies, Emmett Kage and Elliette Sage Runyon. The loves of his life were his family. He was a locomotive engineer for 39 years for Norfolk Southern Railroad. He was a handyman in every trade. There was nothing he could not fix. He enjoyed golfing, riding his Harley, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of Octavia Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a Shriner and a member of the Stone Lodge, becoming a Master Mason in 2014. He was an active little league baseball coach, mentoring young players throughout their youth. Tim devoted his whole life to the Lord and his family. He was the most generous and selfless man. He taught his family to love the Lord, to be strong willed, and to persevere through lifes challenges. With his generous heart, he was always willing to help anyone in need no matter the day, time, or weather. Helping others was very important to him and in doing so he was a true witness for the Lord. This world lost a wonderful man, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend but heaven became brighter with his arrival. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Dino and Stacie Beckett (WHWC), Dr. Anna Johnson and Dr. Mohamed El Dinali (PMC), Dr. Naveed Ahmed (PMC), Irene Maynard (PMC), the employees of the 10th floor Cancer Unit of the Leonard Lawson Cancer Center of PMC, Holly Harris, NP (PMC), Sasha Torres (PMC), Dr. John Villano (UK Markey Cancer Center), the ladies of Bluegrass Hospice Care (Jessica, Whitney, Tiffany, Santana, and Betty) for their compassionate care and support. Visitation for Tim will be held Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 6:00pm-9:00pm in the R.E. Rogers Funeral Home, Belfry, KY. Masonic services will be observed at 11:45 Friday. View Memory Gardens, Huddy, KY with Timmy Lovern, Shawn Mullins, Greg Browning, Tim Whitt, Andy Lovern, Frank Kessler, Greg Blankenship, and Doug Hatfield serving as pallbearers.
