Guest Book

Not sure what to say?

The first time I met Tim, he was perched high on the mast of a boat he was "doing over"......beautiful sunshine, water and summer breeze. He was truly in his element! So very sad this has disappeared for him...

Tim was one of the neighbors we missed the most when we left Hampton, I know him & Vinnie are rejoicing and catching up like old friends would do xxx

Timothy's Obituary

Timothy Graham Massengill, 72, Hampton, died June 26th, 2025. He was born on September 26th 1952 in Goldsboro, North Carolina to Lundy Massengill and Mary Eareckson.

He is survived by son, Caleb Massengill and daughter-in-law Meggan Massengill; grandchildren, Kelly Rose Lueth, Henley Massengill, and Cecelia Massengill; siblings, Deborah (Jim Waters) Gilliam, Kimberly Massengill, and Joey Massengill; nieces, Katie (Patrick) Valdez and children, Isaac Valdez, Patrick Graham Valdez, and Ella Valdez; Ashley (Brandon) Mathein and children, Joshua Mathein and Victoria Mathein, and former wife Kathryn Pepe and her son Alec Smith.

Known as “Uncle Grandpa” to his beloved nieces and nephews, he was a caring and generous man who always helped others. He was proud to be part of the very first graduating class of 1970 from Bethel High School in Hampton, Virginia. He went on to run his own business, MasCon Home Restorations, where he used his skill and eye for detail to make every home special.

He loved spending time on his boat and jet ski, and was an avid gardener who brought color and life to everything he touched. He had an eclectic style and loved home design, always noticing the fine details in carpentry. He was also a true car collector, with his red-hot 1985 Mercedes convertible, 2004 blue BMW convertible, and 1955 turquoise Hot Rod Chevy being some of his favorites.

He gave back to his community as a leader of the New Life Group AA meetings, always ready to lend a hand or listening ear. He will be remembered for his big heart, love for family, and the joy he brought to everyone around him.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Great dad, great grandfather, great friend, and the best creative carpenter ever.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 47 Dashiell Drive in Smithfield, Virginia  on July 26th 2025 at 4 pm.

Arrangements are being made with R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, Hampton.
