Timothy's Obituary

Timothy James “Tim” Pittenger, formerly of Davison, age 77, passed away Saturday September 20, 2025, in Grand Rapids. Honoring Tim’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors on Saturday October 4th from 10:30-12:30pm, with a Memorial Service immediately following at 12:30pm, officiated by the Reverend Robert Taylor. Visitation and the Memorial Service will be held at the Davison Missionary Church, 1481 N. Gale Rd. Davison.

Tim was born in York, Nebraska on September 17, 1948 the son of the late William and Virginia (Drucker) Pittenger and had resided in the Davison area most of his life. Tim was a graduate of the Davison High School Class of 1966 and continued his education with a degree from the University of Michigan – Flint. He was joined in marriage to Theresa Miller on January 12, 1984. Tim had been an active member of the Davison community, having been a member of the Davison Rotary Club, Davison Kiwanis Club, and serving on the Davison School Board. His Christian beliefs lead him to be an active member of the Davison Missionary Church where he served on the Creative Learning Center Board and several committees. Tim enjoyed his quiet time reading and watching sports. His love of the outdoors would often find him on the golf course or the tennis courts. Tim started in real estate with Dowsett Realty and continued his career with Cooper Commercial Real Estate Company. Upon retirement, he and Theresa relocated to the Grand Rapids area in 2012.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Theresa. Holly and husband Greg Karasinski, with their two children, Jack and Sam. Spencer and wife Jessica Caraway with their two children, Riggs and Wren. Tim leaves his brother George and wife Kris Pittenger, nephew Jason and wife Jennifer Pittenger with their children. Special friends, Fredric & Therese Clerk with their children Feston, Souvenir, Fides, Liam and Caleb. He also leaves a host of extended family and friends.
