Todd Michael Eckart, 61, of Duluth, Minnesota, passed away tragically in a car accident on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.
Born on January 13, 1964, in Wells, Minnesota, Todd was the son of Raymond Erdner and Carole Pregler. He graduated from Morgan Park High School in 1982 and spent over four decades sharing his passion for music and entertainment with the world.
Todd was more than a performer—he was a showman. Whether behind the mic as a DJ for Pro Sound and Light or Sounds Unlimited, or on stage singing the timeless hits of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Dean Martin, and many others, Todd brought joy, laughter, and connection to every audience. His performances often included voice impressions and moments of comedy, and he was known for mingling with the crowd after every show, making each person feel seen and appreciated.
He called Duluth home, where he built a life filled with music, friendship, and community. In 2019, Todd released his debut CD, Out of the Blue, and his final project—Christmas by the Lake—is set to be released in December 2025, a lasting gift to those who loved his voice and spirit.
Todd was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Erdner and Carole Bruhjell; his stepfather, Carlyle Eckart; his brothers, Jamie and Michael Sailor; and his great-granddaughter, Francine.
He is survived by his children, Teri (Eric) Timonen, Spencer (Mia) Mattson, and Dillon Duwe; and grandchildren Sydney (Grant), Noah, Colton, and Mallory Timonen. He is also survived by his siblings, Jennifer Eckart, Patrick Erdner, Pamela Erdner, Paul Erdner, and Peter Erdner; his aunt and uncle, Judy (Dick) Seifert and John (Norma) Pregler; special friends Laura DeWitt, John Karich and Paul Byrne; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, fans, and friends who will miss his warmth, humor, and unforgettable performances.
A celebration of Todd’s life will be held in partnership with the Armory Arts and Music Center on January 25, 2026, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Clyde Iron Works in Duluth, MN. More information will be available soon at dulutharmory.org. A private family gathering will be held in Spring 2026.
As Todd was very fond of his three cats—Macy, Blinky, and Cookie—the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Animal Allies Humane Society in his honor.
Todd’s legacy lives on in every song sung, every laugh shared, and every heart he touched.
Arrangements by Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.
