Not sure what to say?

RaeAnn Hamlin introduced me to Todd when I first took on the task of coordinating Spirit Valley Days. Todd had been in California for a few years and recently moved back to Duluth. We hired him to perform and he brought his young Elvis show. The Denfeld Summer Musical Theater was performing Grease that summer and they came and did a few numbers too. It was a great SVD celebration. I continued to hire Todd for years after that. He loved playing in front of a Denfeld/West Duluth crowd. One year...

Todd you will be deeply missed by so many friend! Prayers go out to all the friends and family of him. He has touched so many with his voice, heart and talents. Rest in peace, there aren't words to express how you as a person and your presence on earth - with your music has and will continue to make people feel. You always tried to make everyone in the audience feel like you were singing, playing to them. People will always remember how you make them feel. You will always be remembered.

It's a true heartache to know we won't see Todd and hear his wonderful music. Sarah enabled us to see him in his home in 2023. He let Don play one of his guitars! What an amazing memory. Love you, Todd!

Todd was such a huge inspiration, and loved every single one of his fans. He always made sure that everyone was included in his performances, and that was sure true for me. He got the whole crowd to sing "Happy Birthday", and then played Folsom, just for me. You will forever be missed.

Oh Todd.... I haven't been this sad over a passing since my son died.... you were wonderful in so many ways. You have left a huge hole in our part of the world. As a fellow musician I can appreciate your talent and showmanship. You left WAY TOO SOON! We will miss you. I will miss you. Please keep entertaining others in Heaven now.

TODD's Obituary

Todd Michael Eckart, 61, of Duluth, Minnesota, passed away tragically in a car accident on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.

Born on January 13, 1964, in Wells, Minnesota, Todd was the son of Raymond Erdner and Carole Pregler. He graduated from Morgan Park High School in 1982 and spent over four decades sharing his passion for music and entertainment with the world.

Todd was more than a performer—he was a showman. Whether behind the mic as a DJ for Pro Sound and Light or Sounds Unlimited, or on stage singing the timeless hits of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Dean Martin, and many others, Todd brought joy, laughter, and connection to every audience. His performances often included voice impressions and moments of comedy, and he was known for mingling with the crowd after every show, making each person feel seen and appreciated.

He called Duluth home, where he built a life filled with music, friendship, and community. In 2019, Todd released his debut CD, Out of the Blue, and his final project—Christmas by the Lake—is set to be released in December 2025, a lasting gift to those who loved his voice and spirit.

Todd was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Erdner and Carole Bruhjell; his stepfather, Carlyle Eckart; his brothers, Jamie and Michael Sailor; and his great-granddaughter, Francine.

He is survived by his children, Teri (Eric) Timonen, Spencer (Mia) Mattson, and Dillon Duwe; and grandchildren Sydney (Grant), Noah, Colton, and Mallory Timonen. He is also survived by his siblings, Jennifer Eckart, Patrick Erdner, Pamela Erdner, Paul Erdner, and Peter Erdner; his aunt and uncle, Judy (Dick) Seifert and John (Norma) Pregler; special friends Laura DeWitt, John Karich and Paul Byrne; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, fans, and friends who will miss his warmth, humor, and unforgettable performances.

A celebration of Todd’s life will be held in partnership with the Armory Arts and Music Center on January 25, 2026, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Clyde Iron Works in Duluth, MN. More information will be available soon at dulutharmory.org. A private family gathering will be held in Spring 2026.

As Todd was very fond of his three cats—Macy, Blinky, and Cookie—the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Animal Allies Humane Society in his honor.

Todd’s legacy lives on in every song sung, every laugh shared, and every heart he touched.
