May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Tom, we shared four rides together when delivering cars for Joseph Toyota with traffic backed more than several miles on a Friday afternoon. Within the initial 15 minutes, we had great talks about the importance of family and your faith in God. I considered you an "open book" when our dialog traveled from one topic to another. You were transparent...what one experienced with Tom was the "real" Tom. I am a better person for briefly...

Tom was my best friend. He was my Father in law, mentor, buddy, and my biggest advocate. He always told me the truth, I could count on him to give it to me straight. There will always be a huge void in my life that he once filled. Tom taught me the value of Loving my Family by doing exactly that every day. Thomas Robert Cloppert, of Milan, was born on February 23, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio a son to Frederick and Rita Bettinger Cloppert. He married Judy Weisbrod on December 12, 1975 in Cincinnati and together they raised five children. Tom worked as a material manager in quality control for many years. He was an active member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church as a Eucharistic minister and in the men’s prayer groups. Tom loved boating and spending time with his family. On Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at the age of 67, he passed away at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati.
Those surviving who will cherish Tom’s memory include his wife of 43 years, Judy Cloppert; children, Bill (Karen) Schmitt of Milan, Julie (Joe) Stewart of West Harrison, Thom (Alicia) Cloppert, Jr. of Loveland, OH, Jud (Liz) Cloppert of Cincinnati, and Katie (Taylor) Hoffman of Erlanger, KY; 10 grandchildren, Megan (Tyler) Ripperger, Zach Schmitt, Jacob Stewart, Eli Schmitt, Mallory Stewart, Becca Schmitt, Matthew Schmitt, Lilli Stewart, Acadia Cloppert, and Irelyn Cloppert; 3 great-grandchildren, Quinn Ripperger, Griffin Ripperger and Rhys Schmitt; 2 brothers, Fred (Pat) Cloppert of Columbus, OH, and Bill (Sandi) Cloppert of Cincinnati, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 5 until 8 p.m. with Rosary at 4:30 at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman. Father Shaun Whittington will officiate a Mass of Christian burial on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorial donations can be directed to the St. Nicholas Heritage Project – the donations will help with the building of the new St. Nicholas School.
