Tomasa Barrera, lovingly known as Tamie, passed away peacefully on July 30th, 2025, just weeks before her 67th birthday. Born on August 13th, 1958, Tamie lived life on her own terms — strong-willed, independent, and unforgettable.
Her greatest joy came in being a grandmother. Tamie was fiercely proud of her grandchildren and poured her heart into them with unwavering love. Her face lit up in their presence, and her home was always a place where they felt seen, spoiled, and deeply cared for.
She is survived by her five daughters, Lorraine Barrera-Pope, Crystal Barrera, Priscilla Barrera-Sánchez, Erica Barrera, and Ashlee Barrera-Gittos.
Tamie was a devoted grandmother to Jose IV, Joaquin, Julian, Patricia, Fabian, Natali, Cristobal, Ezekiel, Rafael, and Raina XyLona.
In a beautiful turn of life’s circle, Tamie became a great-grandmother shortly after her passing to Alayna.
Tamie was bold, funny, and unapologetically herself. Her laughter, her strength, and her unique way of showing love will never be forgotten.
A Rosary/Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson. Interment to follow at Patterson District Cemetery.
