It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Tony Hernandez Gonzalez, who left us peacefully on February 17, 2026.
Tony Gonzalez was born on September 23, 1957, to Antonio Nunez Gonzalez and Ramona Hernandez. Tony was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose life was defined by hard work, love, and dedication to his family. For 25 years, he worked faithfully at CR&R, always ensuring his family was cared for and provided for. He showed his love through action, working long, hard days and maintaining an unwavering commitment to those he loved the most.
He had a special affection for animals and always ensured his children had the pets they wanted growing up. In his later years, he found great comfort and joy in spending time with his three beloved dogs, Big Boy, Zeus, and Mamas, who meant the world to him.
Tony loved sports; if a game was on, he was watching it. He was the best storyteller, known for his unforgettable stories and funny little songs he would create to go along with them. You would often see him driving around town with his soda on ice, simply enjoying the day in his own way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio Nunez Gonzalez and Ramona Hernandez Gonzalez; his wife, Graciela Gonzalez; his daughter, Rosemary Duenes; and his siblings Abel Rodriguez, Eulalia Rodriguez, Augustin Salinas, Jose Gonzalez, and Joe Mario Gonzalez.
He is survived by his children, Tony Jr. Gonzalez and Kristina Gonzalez (Ricardo). His grandchildren, Aaron Duenes, Jonathan Duenes, Serena Duenes (Rodrigo), Alayna Duenes (Ryan), Kassandra Gonzalez, Anthony Gonzalez, and Ricardo Jr. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, one on the way and his siblings, Simon Salinas, Louise Vega, and Anselmo Rodriguez, along with many nieces and nephews who will forever cherish his memory.
Tony's legacy is one of strength, humor, and love. His stories, his songs, and his presence will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Services will be held on Thursday, March 5th, 2026 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with Rosary beginning at 9 a.m. and Mass starting at 10:00 a.m.
