Not sure what to say?

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.

Merla so sorry to hear of Troy's passing. Prays of comfort for you and his family. Remembering Troy as a young man and he was so full of fun. Colleen Van Wagoner.

It was an honor to know and work with Troy. He will be missed. Praying for Sandi and the kids at this most difficult time. I enjoyed showing up to work and wondering what name Troy would have on his shirt that day. RIP my friend.

Troy's Obituary

Troy Weston Nokes passed away on December 5, 2025, after nearly an eight-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Salt Lake City and raised in Riverton, Troy lived a life defined by hard work, generosity, faith, and an unmistakable zest for life.

A talented general contractor focused on kitchen remodeling; Troy had an entrepreneurial spirit that influenced everything he did. He enjoyed the challenge of building, fixing, selling, and creating. Whether he was managing a project, hunting for a great deal, inventing solutions to problems others simply tolerated, or transforming something ordinary into something valuable, Troy had a knack for making things happen and always kept life interesting. He delighted in the small joys: shopping for something unique, wearing bold and colorful shirts no one else would even have taken a second look at, planning spontaneous trips, or chatting with neighbors until everyone forgot why they had stepped outside in the first place. Troy never met a stranger, and he didn’t plan to start. He truly connected with people, making them feel seen, heard, and welcome.

Teaching was one of Troy’s true callings and greatest passions. He often reminisced about his time as a missionary in the Scotland Edinburgh mission, as a scout leader, and as a Primary or Sunday school teacher. He loved his time serving the youth in his ward, in whatever capacity, and Troy brought enthusiasm, humor, unyielding faith, and his quick wit to every encounter.

Above all, Troy will be remembered for his generosity. He had an instinct for knowing who needed help, who needed encouragement, and who simply needed someone to show up. He stood up for those who needed defending, looked out for the struggling, and gave freely of his time, talents, and resources without ever expecting anything in return.

Troy is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Sandi; his children, Austin (Tori), Weston (Erin), Densley, and Isaac; and his five cherished grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Merla Densley Nokes, and his siblings Kerm, Robynn, and his twin brother, Trent. He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Nokes.

A Viewing will be held Sunday, December 14th from 3:00–5:00 PM at Broomhead Funeral Home (12600 S 2200 W, Riverton, UT 84065) Services will be held Monday, December 15th, at 11:00 AM Traverse Mountain 8th Ward Building (2447 N Ravencrest Ln, Lehi, UT 84043) Troy will be laid to rest at the Riverton Cemetery.
