Deacon Ulysses Bellamy, Sr.1950 - 2025
Ulysses Bellamy, Sr., was born on March 12, 1950, in Lamont, Florida, to the late Alex and Carrie Bell Abner Bellamy. He was raised in a large family in the Lamont Community. Ulysses attended and graduated from Howard Academy, class of 1970.
He was united in holy matrimony to Janet Delorice Houston on December 18, 1970. To this union, four children were born. They were blessed with a wonderful marriage for 44 years until her demise in February of 2015.
At an early age Ulysses received Christ and started his Christian journey. He was a devoted member of Mt. Morilla Missionary Baptist Church, where he served diligently as a deacon. Deacon Bellamy loved his church, where he willingly contributed spiritually, financially, and physically. Regardless of what needed to be done, he did it cheerfully.
Ulysses drove for Tom’s (Lance) for many years. Upon retirement from Tom’s (Lance), he started his own business, UB Trucking, LLC. Ulysses hauled lumber for Langboard OSB, a major plywood supplier.
A man full of life, Ulysses enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching, and attending football games with his friends. He also loved his bananas. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with family. He was known for his dedication, loyalty, and humorous personality. Ulysses was always the life of the party.
Hearing his Master’s voice bidding him to come home, Ulysses gently transitioned on Friday, October 10, 2025. His dedicated, cheerful spirit and loving memories will be forever cherished by his two daughters, YuLonda (Bernard) Cooper and Janessa (Michael) Crawford.
