I didnt really know you but i talked to you a couple of times over the phone. Me and my dad wish we could make it to your funeral but we won't be able too. R.I.P angel Vanessa

Vanessa's Obituary

Vanessa Nicole Schapley, age 11, passed on December 20,2017 at 6:41p.m. in Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. Vanessa was preceded in death by her grandfather, Edward Schapley and cousin, Patrick Quinn Jr. Vanessa is survived by her parents, Samantha and Travis Schapley; a brother Travis Schapley Jr; sisters, Kendra Schapley and Makayla Menshouse; her maternal grandparents, Mary(NiNi) and Harold(Poppy) Tunnicliff; her paternal grandparent, Kathy Schapley(Granny); as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

 Vanessa was loved by her grandparents by choice, Kim(Papa) and Secanda(Nina) Menshouse, Lonnie(Grandpa) and Debbie(Grandma) Chambliss, John(Grandpa) and Jeanie(Grandma) Smoke. Her adopted parent by choice, Stacie Smoke also loved Vanessa dearly. Vanessa was also loved by her Godfather, Cory Menshouse; siblings by choice, Shantel and Mikey Menshouse, and Bailey Shedden, as well as, stepfather by choice, Matt Chambliss.

Thank you to all of the Vanderbilt team, especially Ashley, Sara, Ellen, Matt, and Ter’rez of the seventh floor at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital and another big thank you to her favorite pediatrician, Dr.Collins.

 Visitation with the family will be on Friday, December 29,2017 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral services beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Woodfin Chapel,Smyrna. Burial will follow in Mapleview Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
