Funeral service for Vannie Lee Malone Jr., of Athens, Alabama will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Homer L. Moses Memorial Chapel of Peoples Funeral Home with Brother Timmy Smith officiating. The body will lie in state from 11:00 a.m. until funeral time. Interment and committal will be at the Thatch Mann cemetery.
On Friday, March 6, 2026, public viewing will be from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Peoples Funeral Home.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish, but have Everlasting Life! Our hearts were saddened to hear of the passing of your loved one. To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord. God is our Refuge in the time of storm's. As you journey through this process of grief, keep looking up to the Hills, from whence cometh your help, your help cometh from the Lord, who made Heaven and Earth! Keep Believing God, and Trusting in His Grace and Mercy to Comfort you and give you the Strength that you need to make it through this season of life.
