Velma Scott Anderson

Velma Scott Anderson entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 26, 2025, at the age of 80. She was born in raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. Velma was the beloved daughter of Wilbert Earl Scott and Floriska Lawrence Williams. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Michael Scott, Monica Scott, and Matthew (Kelly) Scott, 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Melvin Anderson, Sr.; son, Melvin D Scott; two sisters, Julia Scott and Annie Brown. Velma worked at the Hotel Monteleone as a housekeeper and was a phenomenal mother and an awesome grandmother.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Dennis Funeral Home, 1812 Louisiana Ave. on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 11:00 am. Visitation begins 10:00 am. Interment: Private. Arrangements entrusted to Dennis Funeral Home.
