Velma's Obituary
Velma Chapple Evans was born to Silver and Lula Bell Chapple in East Chicago, Indiana on January 24, 1942.
Velma accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age.
Velma attended Tolleston High School where she was a member of the Glee Club.
She spent her childhood visiting her grandma Pauline back in Alabama where she learned to cook and bake. Velma was the life of the party, and she enjoyed having a good time with her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Rogers Murray Evans, their infant son Rogers Lorenzo, their daughter Tonda Renee, her parents Silva & Lula Bell Chapple, and her 4 siblings: Henry Chapple, Rosemary Blackmon, Josephine Ivey and Sylvester Chapple.
Velma leaves to cherish her memory, 1 daughter, Lorraine Evans and 2 sons, Robert Chapple and Alonzo Evans. 11 grandchildren; Necha, Tanesha, Amber, Taiwon, Carl, Darryl, Alonzo Jr., Akeia, Christian, Marion and Joshua. 33 great grandchildren and 5 great great-grandchildren. Velma leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
