Age 87, of Stanton Heights, on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Harmar Village. Daughter of the late Joseph and Palma Sharpsky; sister of the late Marylou Rock, Alice Ahlers and Larry Sharpsky; special aunt of several nieces, great nieces and nephews. Velma had a long and successful career with People's Gas Company, retiring in 1989. She was a member of St. Raphael Church in Morningside, where a Memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to St. Raphael's Angel Fund, 1118 Chislett Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15206. Arrangements by the WALTER J. ZALEWSKI FUNERAL HOME, Lawrenceville.
