In loving memory of a wonderful lady that I knew and worked with for many years at the Medal Office. We had lots of fun times and lunches together. After she retired she always called me on my birthday to wish me happy birthday. I regret that I will not be able to make it to the wake and Mass, so I extend my deepest sympathy, thoughts and prayers to you all.

Oh what memories I have of Aunt Vera Mae! Wonderful memories of a graceful, caring, and loving person. My memories go to when Uncle Harry was dating her. Through the years she always had a wonderful smile and thoughtful expressions. In the later years, when she was alone, I was fortunate to be able to visit her from time to time when I had business at SEMO. Then finally the last time Linda and I saw her was in September as we passed through Perryville. I am not sure she realized which of us...

Vera's Obituary

    Vera Mae Feltz, 87, of Perryville, died on December 27, 2018 at St. John’s Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

    She was born December 21, 1931 in Perry County, MO daughter of Valle and Mary Virginia (Taylor) Schweiss.  She and Harry J. Feltz were married on September 3, 1960.  He preceded her in death on July 15, 1996.

    Vera Mae was a secretary at Miraculous Medal Association.  She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.

    Survivors include two daughters and one son, Karen L. Feltz of Waianae, Hawaii, Richard A. (Wendy) Feltz of Wildwood, Jane M. (Jeffrey) Wood of St. Peters; and four grandchildren, Danielle, Drew, and Dayton Feltz and Jenna Wood.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters, Mary Virginia Lewis and Hilda Ann Reiss.

    Visitation will be held at Young & Sons Funeral Home on Sunday, December 30 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm and on Monday from 6:30 – 9:30 am.  She will then be taken to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church for Mass at 10:00 am with Rev. Joe Geders officiating.  Burial in Mount Hope Cemetery.

    Memorials preferred to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church or Miraculous Medal Association.
