Vera Yoder

Vera Yoder, age 75 of Nappanee, IN, died surrounded by her family at 12:18 am on Saturday morning, July 12, 2025.  Vera was born on December 8, 1949 in Nappanee, to Oscar and Kate (Schmucker) Schmucker.  On June 4, 1970, she married Ola Richard Yoder in Nappanee.  She lived in Nappanee all her life and she was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.  Surviving is her husband, Ola Yoder of Nappanee; 6 sons: Anthony (Marylou) Yoder of Millersburg, IN, Daryl (Vonda) Yoder of Bremen, IN, Brian (Karen) Yoder of Bremen, Virgil (Amy) Yoder of Nappanee, Jason Yoder of Elkhart, IN and Ola Richard Jr. (Rachel) Yoder of Wakarusa; 1 daughter, Janelle (Marion) Helmuth of Hudson, IN; 27 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 4 brothers: Raymond Schmucker of Farmville, VA, Oscar Jr. (Laura) Schmucker of Bremen, Lamar (Lois) Schmucker of Ligonier, IN and Gary (Susan) Schmucker of Bremen; 1 sister, Eshter Miller of Goshen, IN and 1 sister-in-law, Karen Schmucker of Milford.  Vera was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Clara Schmucker, infant Margret Schmucker, Frieda Stutzman and her twin sister, Velma Miller; brother, Homer Schmucker; sisters-in-law, Kathryn Schmucker and Joanna Schmucker; and brothers-in-law, Lloyd Stutzman and Ray Miller. Visitation will be held after 2pm on Sunday, July 13, 2025 and all-day Monday, July 14, 2025 at the Virgil Yoder Residence (29495 CR 50, Nappanee, IN 46550).  A funeral service will begin at 9:30 am on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 also at the Virgil Yoder Residence.  Bishop John Kauffman and Home Ministers of the Old Order Amish Church will officiate and burial will take place in Weldy Cemetery.
