Veralene Arps was born on July 4th, 1943, in Frisco, Texasto the parents of Abraham & Verlene Pearson. She passedaway peacefully on Monday, June 23rd, 2025 inMcKinney, Texas.
Veralene attended school in Allen, Texas. She accepted Christ at anearly age in life at the House of God Church in Garland, TX, under theformer leadership of the late Elder A.D. Dabbs, and currently under theleadership of Elder Edna Dabbs.
Veralene was united in marriage in 1965 to the late Minister Willie D.Arps. She was blessed to be the mother of eight loving children. Shecherished the role of being a mother and grandmother, and the love itbrought.
She is proceeded in death by her late husband, Minister Willie D. Arps;her two sons, Alfred Earl Evans and Billy Ray Evans; daughter,Shirley J. Mongomery, her parents, Abraham and Verlene Pearson andlastly, one day before, her brother, Henry Ray Thompson.Those left behind to cherish her beautiful memory are the following:her devoted son, Jessie Smith (Mable); loving daughters, EmmareneJohnson (Ronald), JoAnn Cole (Nathan Walker), Erma Jones (Jesse),Barbara Walters, Debbie Majors (David); and special son-in-law,Anthony Montgomery.
Veralene’s memory lives on through her close friends, Edna Dabbs andAnnette Coit; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren,great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Veralene will be missed. May her memory be a blessing, and may wehonor her by cherishing the moments with those we love andpreserving the memories that matter most.
