I first met Verda and Elwood in 2013 when I was hired as Music Director at Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran church. We instantly clicked as friends and they shared their last Thanksgiving together at my home. They will never be forgotten.

Verda Carol Tryon of Columbus, NJ died peacefully at her home on Sunday, August 10th. She has been reunited in eternal togetherness with her family that preceded her in death, including Elwood Tryon, her devoted husband of 62 years, their love story was an inspiration and filled with many years of happiness and wonderful memories, her two sons Wayne Chiodo and Todd Tryon, who brought her immense joy and were in her thoughts every single day, her sister Charlotte Morgan who she adored, her brother-in-law Alfred Morgan, her brother Randal Read, and her parents Randal and Verda Read. Verda was an elegant lady with a kind heart, who enjoyed nothing more than spending time reminiscing and laughing with all her friends, who were so special to her.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 22, 2025 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 350 White Horse Avenue, Hamilton, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church, where Verda and Elwood were members and the congregation was part of their family.
