Vinson B. Dixon, Sr., 79, of Petersburg, Virginia, departed this life on September 9, 2025, at Wonder City Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Hopewell, Virginia. He was born on May 22, 1947, in North Carolina to Bessie Mae Simpson Dixon and Charlie Elbert Dixon.Affectionately known as “Bobby and Day & Night”, Vinson attended New Bern High School. He was a member of Calvary Outreach Revival Center, Petersburg, Virginia under the leadership of Bishop Irving S. Taylor, Senior Pastor Lady Stephanie Taylor and Elder Desmond Crawley.Vinson was employed with D&D Concrete, D&D Towing Company, a 24-hour Lockout Service and a used car dealership. In his spare time, he enjoyed drag racing and gambling.Vinson was preceded in death by three brothers, Charley Dixon, Shelton Dixon and Dexta Dixon.Vinson leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Donna Dixon; children, Pearl Dixon, Corinne Dixon, Terry Dixon and Vinson Dixon, Jr.; stepchildren, Michelle Miller and Kaedia Brown; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; parents, Bessie Mae Simpson Dixon and Charlie Elbert Dixon; sister, Carolyn Dixon; brothers, Willie Dixon, Roland Dixon and Ernest Dixon; devoted friend, James Thomas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.A memorial service will be held 3:00 P.M., Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Calvary Outreach Revival Center, 1865 S.
