Violet's Obituary

A plucked flower, Violet Louise Mobley, 85, a native of Jessamine County, was born to the late Daisy Mathews Blackford and the late Roosevelt Blackford, Sr., on February 13, 1940. Violet was educated in the Jessamine County school system. She accepted Christ at an early and became a member of Macedonia Baptist church, where she attended and served in culinary until her health failed. Violet worked in healthcare for many years until retirement from Northside Hospital Youngstown Ohio.

Violet was preceded in death by her loving husband, Sylvester Mobley (Youngstown, OH). They both were avid bowlers.

Violet was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters:; Ella Francis Sanders, Nanny Walker and Gladys Mae Sanders, Mattie Mosby. Brothers Walter (Seymour) Blackford, David Lee Blackford, Raymond Blackford, and George "Joe Hugh" Blackford.

She has is survived by her son James L Engles, Sr. (Lisa) Youngstown,OH a daughter Dianne Burns, Lexington KY. She also leaves a granddaughter, LaTisha Williams who was her caregiver. A grandson Terrell Engles, Sr., Lexington KY, and several other grandchildren. Special great grandsons Terrell Engles, Jr. (Columbus,  OH) and Georgen Biggerstaff (Lexington,Ky). Several other great grand kids and 1 great great grand daughter. Survived by her siblings Helen Short, Betty Jackson, William "Ed" Blackford, and Roosevelt "June" Blackford, Sr., she is survived by a large host of family and friends to cherish her memory.
