Not sure what to say?

Allan was a great friend, I had the privilege of traveling with him on a show steer trip! Fine man and fun to be around! Lifting family in prayer!

Allan, Carol Kuhn Mark's and I spent many hours at my home eating and visiting and remembering our high school adventures. Allan was so proud of his family and always gave the love of his life Janet full credit for their success. When he spoke of his grandchildren
his blue eyes beamed with pride. He will be missed by all who knew him

I am so sorry for your loss. I am sending prayers for God’s comfort and peace. May your memories of him always make you smile.

We are so sorry to hear this news. There are so many stories that Marty still tells about his stock show days with Allan. Prayers for his family and friends. ~ From the Sharry’s

Allan came into our lives in 2018. We always enjoyed being with him. A very friendly & nice man. Sad to read of his passing....in God's hands from here on joining Janet too. Our sympathy sent to his families.

Virgil Allan Copus was born on May 25, 1941 in Carnegie, Oklahoma to Virgil Ivan Copus and Ira Pauline Loyd Copus.  Allan attended all 12 years of school at Carnegie, Oklahoma, graduating in 1959.  He was saved at a young age at Carnegie First Baptist Church.

Allan married Janet Hicks on September 1, 1961 at First Baptist Church in Mountain View, Oklahoma.  He attended OSU receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Education.  Allan began his teaching career at Canute, Oklahoma in 1969.  After teaching there 8 years he accepted the teaching position at Elk City, Oklahoma.  He completed two years there and moved to Carnegie to take over the family business.  In 1979 he accepted the teaching position at Eakly, Oklahoma and retired there in 1995.  Allan went on to work at the Eakly Farmer’s Cooperative in animal health and feeds until retirement.

Allan enjoyed teaching and traveled all over the hills of Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota and Oklahoma looking for that Grand Champion project.  He took students to shows from Phoenix to Kansas City, Denver, and El Paso where he had many winnings at shows all over the United States.  Allan mentored, taught, and positively influenced many individuals.  In the past few years, Allan has been involved in the goat business.  He mostly shipped them to packing houses in Tennessee and Illinois.

Allan was a good athlete in high school and especially liked basketball.  He was a die-hard OSU fan.  He attended a lot of the games and when he couldn’t attend, he watched on his big screen at home.

PaPa Allan was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren.  He attended all stock shows, ballgames and activities they were involved in.  He loved all his family dearly especially his 3 grandchildren, Stetson Lane, Harper Teal, and Graham Allan.

He is survived by his daughter, Jill Copus; his son, Mark Copus; and his grandchildren, Stetson, Harper, and Graham.
