Virginia Ann Gaddy

Virginia Ann Gaddy was born to John Andrew Gaddy and Ada Maureen (Norris) Gaddy in Tuscaloosa Alabama on August 9, 1942. She was the fourth of five children. (Jean, Marvin, John and Shirley). She met her husband, William (Billy) Lawrence Cook Jr., and was married on June 10, 1961. With Billy in the military (Marines then Air Force) they traveled all over the world and moved many times living in Hawaii, Germany, and many places in the U.S. She was a mother of two children. Her son Stephen Dewayne Cook and Michaela (Cook) Whisenhunt. She lived in Alabama for many years and moved to San Antonio upon Billy’s death in March 2019.

Virginia loved crocheting, crosswords, reading and collecting nicknacks. She also loved Alabama Football. Roll tide!

She is preceded in death by her father John, her mother Maureen, her brothers Marvin and John and her sister Jean. She is survived by her sister Shirley, her son Stephen and his wife Melissa, her daughter Michaela and her husband Barney, and 2 granddaughters Brittany Cook and Shelby Whisenhunt. Her presence in our lives will be dearly missed. 

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home.
