Walter's Obituary

Mr. Walter Chavous Jr. entered into rest on Sunday, August 3, 2025. Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Macedonia Church of Augusta. Interment will follow at Walker Memorial Park. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Alpha Stokes, and Jacqueline Mooney;  brothers, Rev. Levi Chavous, Miller Chavous and Charles Chavous.

Mr. Chavous leaves behind his loving wife of 67 years, Juanita Chavous, and three loving children: Carmen "Jeannie" (Keith)Jernigan, Walter "Dub" (Monique) Chavous, and Alan " Lance" (Alessandra) Chavous. Proud Grandpa "Papa" to Courtney Chavous, Lauren Chavous, Jay Chavous, Clark Chavous, Keshon Jernigan and Marcus Jernigan; forever little hearts, great grandchildren; Beckham Chavous and Ariella McGrew; sister, Betty Pearson; three step grands; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and all who were blessed to be part of his long and meaningful life. There will be a viewing on Friday from 1-5 p.m.
