I remember visiting with the family at Christmas. Dad and him would share past stories of their childhood. Good memories. God bless.

Caren - So sad to here about your dads passing. Didnt realize he was 98. No matter how old or young someone is you will always miss them . Walter's Obituary

Walter Oscar Cook, age 98, of Texarkana, Texas, died Friday, January 11, 2019, in a Plano, Texas hospital.

 

Mr. Cook was born January 14, 1920, in Texarkana, Texas. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army-Air Corp. He was a Baptist and worked as a painter at Day & Zimmerman.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Helen Hall Cook.

 

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Stan Huff and Caren and David Holcomb; one granddaughter and her husband, Stephanie and Keith Bergagnini; and two great-grandsons, David Bergagnini and Blake Bergagnini, all of Texarkana. 

 

A graveside service will be at 2 pm Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens.

 

The family will receive friends for visitation prior to the service from 12:30-1:30 PM Wednesday at Chapelwood Funeral Home.
