Walter was born and raised in Fitchburg, son of the late Walter R. and Anna (DiNinno) Erickson. He was a graduate of Fitchburg High School, Class of 1962, and a long-time resident of Clinton.

For 26 years until its closing, he worked as a machinist at the former James River Paper Co., Fitchburg. He then founded Breakaway Billiards, Clinton, with his good friend, Thomas Vitone, which he owned and operated until his retirement in 2000.

Upon retirement, he enjoyed cruising, and also spent many happy days at his summer place in Wells, Maine. An avid golfer, hunter and coin collector, he was also an enthusiastic New England Patriots Fan. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family and playing chauffeur to his grandchildren and their friends. He looked forward to his daily trips to Hannaford.

Per Walter’s request, burial services are private and under the direction of McNally & Watson Funeral Home. Friends and family are invited to gather at the Erickson residence at 155 Cedar St., Clinton from 4:00-9:00 pm on Thursday, June 1, 2023.
