Walter's Obituary

Pawtucket – Walter Gravello, 87, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Avis P. (Nicholson) Gravello for sixty-three years. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Alex and Rose (Fostyk) Gravello. Walter was a World War II U. S. Marine Corps veteran, he served as a Corporal in the Pacific with the Marine Bombing Squadron Six-Thirteen. He was a brickmason and Life Member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craft Workers Local No. 1, Cranston. Walter was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. He was a member of the former Barney Merry Lodge #29, F. & A.M., Pawtucket, now St. John's Lodge #1 F. & A.M., Providence for sixty years. He was a recipient of the Masonic Grand Lodge Veterans Medal and a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Providence. Besides his wife he leaves three daughters, Patricia A. Angulo, Donna L. Stansfield and her husband Michael and Sandra L. Tomellini and her husband Sterling; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Alice M. Gravello. VISITATION will begin Saturday at 9 a.m. at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, with a Masonic Memorial Service at 10 a.m., followed by a Requiem Eucharist at 11 a.m. in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 50 Park Place Pawtucket. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
