Walter's Obituary

Walter Vance Henderson, Sr., was born in Houston, Texas to Frank Henderson, and Francis Bonner-Thomas on November 30, 1934.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Geraldine Henderson, Verna Raye Henderson and Jessie Mae Lane, grandparents; Hillard and Penny Bonner, great-grandparents; Jack (Martha) Tone, and eight uncles and five aunts of the Bonner Legacy.  Mr. Henderson made his transition on January 4, 2025, at his home, surrounded with family.

Walter Henderson leaves to cherish his memory; daughter, Dr. Verna (Daniel) Carthane of Pontiac, MI; two son; Walter (Karen) Henderson, Jr., of Waterford Township, MI., and Mark (Dawn) Henderson of Galloway, Ohio.

Devoted Bonus Daughter; Denise (Nick) Nickerson of Pontiac, MI; O. Patrice Burton of Auburn Hills, MI., and Beverly McGhee of Pontiac, MI.  Fourteen grandchildren, Eleven great-grandchildren and Two great-great-grandchildren one niece; Diane Calhoun of Houston,Texas, also several surviving cousins of Houston, Texas; devoted friend and Prayer Warrior Ms. Majorie Greenway of Houston, Texas.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Cobb's Funeral Home Chapel 151 Ochard Lake Road., Pontiac, Michigan.  Family hour will begin at 10:30am and the service will immediately start at 11:00am.  Pastor Kevin Sanders, host pastor officiating.
