Walter's Obituary

Walter H. Jacobs, Sr.Walter H. Jacobs, Sr. died on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Attleboro Nursing Home in Langhorne at the age of 86.Born and raised in West Pittston, PA, the son of the late Eleanor (Tompkins) and John Jacobs, he was a graduate of West Pittston High School.Mr. Jacobs was an original homeowner in Levittown since 1955.Until his retirement, Walt was a mechanic in the Mobile Shop at USX for over 40 years.Walt was a proud patriot and served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the John F. Billington VFW Post #6495 and the Memorial Post #960 AL.He was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan.Mr. Jacobs was the beloved husband of the late Betty (Pritchard) and the loving father of Barbara Johnson (Timothy) and the late Walter H. Jacobs, Jr. He will also be sadly missed by his three grandchildren, Amy Russo (Dan), Timothy Jr. (Nina) and Lisa Fisher (David); his great grandson, Connor.He is also survived by his sister, Judy Jacobs of West Pittston and his companion, Barbara Kendig. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Betty Simmons, Clara Roberts, Jack, Ned, Dick, Harry, William, and infant brother, George.Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 7:00 until 9:00 pm and on Friday, from 9:00 until 10:00 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, where his funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday. Interment will follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090-6011 (alz.org) or please spend a moment of your time with a friend or relative who may need love and support.
