Dear Carol, Jocelyn and Tripp, Minnie Rae was so much fun to be around. We wish we could have seen more of her. Her kindness, understanding and love toward us will always be cherished.

Minnie Ray (Lane) Hunter - passed on October 2, 2025. Wife of Samuel C. Hunter, Jr for 63 years, beloved mother of Jocelyn Bailey (Edward), Carol Hunter and Samuel Hunter III (Val Thomas), grandmother of Keisha Bailey Garvin (Will) and Kory Bailey, great-grandmother of Alexander, Hunter and Samuel Bailey and Niya Garvin, auntie and friend to many. San Antonio native and Colorado Springs resident beginning in 1950. Integral business owner and community member having participated in many aspects of social, spiritual and organizational life through Hunter & Company Realty, Iota Beta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., (Chapter founder and Diamond Soror) and Payne Chapel AME Church among others. Celebration of Life Service to be held at Payne Chapel AME Church, 3625 Marion Drive, Colorado Springs on Friday, October 17, 2025. AKA service at 11:00 AM, community service at 12:00 PM. Contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to the Iota Beta Omega Chapter Scholarship Fund (Pearls of the Peak Foundation, Inc.), https://www.pearlsofthepeak.org, or to Payne Chapel AME Church https://www.paynechapelamechurch.org/give (Benevolence Fund), and noted to the memory of Minnie Ray Hunter.
