Dear Kathy, Sandy & Phil,
We are sorry we cannot attend the visitaion tonite. I have a scheduled meeting & JoAnn is in rehab after a week in the hospital.JoAnn & I wish to express our condolences to you. Doc & Hilda were friends at the Dayton CoB. I often wondered how your dad got the nickname "Doc." If you would like to tell me, you can call at 828-3926, send a note to Me at PO Box 224, Bridgewater! I don't think I can attend the graveside service.

Walter Phillip “Doc” Randolph, Sr., 88, of Bridgewater (formerly of Dayton), passed away Saturday, November 26, 2016 at his home.Walter was born in Rockingham County on June 18, 1928 and was the son of the late Russell and Lula (Burton) Randolph.Walter was a member of the Dayton Church of the Brethren.  He graduated from Dayton High School and Coyne Electrical School in Chicago, IL.  After 38 years of service, he retired from Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative as Rockingham District Manager.  He also served his country in the US Army, during the Korean War.  He was a member of Eureka Masonic Lodge #195 AF & AM, the Dayton Ruritan Club and the Dayton American Legion Post #27.On October 1, 1949, he was united in marriage to Hilda Spencer, who preceded him in death on June 6, 1989. He was also preceded in death by a sister Bernice Deavers.Surviving are three children, Kathy Shirkey and husband Steven of Bridgewater, Sandy Miller of Bridgewater and Phil Randolph and wife Susan of Richmond; six grandsons, Jordan Shirkey, Lee Miller, Mark Miller, Spencer Randolph, Austin Randolph, and Mason Randolph; and a sister, Doris Dull of Buena Vista.The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral Service in Bridgewater.A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at the Dayton Cemetery with Rev.
