Funeral service for Mr. Walter James Scott, III will be held on Saturday January 15, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Luke A.M.E. Church, 2709 N. 25th Street, Tampa, Florida 33605 Rev. Kirk Bogen, presiding with Rev. William Taylor, Eulogist. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
A native of Tampa, Mr. Walter James Scott III was born on December 25, 1979 to Sherby Jean Scott and Walter James Scott Jr. He was educated in the Hillsborough County School System. Mr. Scott attended St. Luke A.M.E. Church in his younger years and was employed with USF until his health failed. Walter enjoyed writing rap songs and cleaning his car. Walter loved his family and was a loving and devoted father to his children. He transitioned to be with the Lord on January 4, 2022.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fulton and Katie Morris, James and Lillian Scott and sister, Bridget Hill.
Mr. Scott leaves fond memories in the hearts of his family that include his sons, Travion Scott, Zaylen Scott and daughter, Alicia Scott; children, Chrisean Jones and Cameron Jones (and their mother, Sade Morris), Jermequa Hall, Quanzail Grier; mother, Sherby Scott and father, Walter Scott Jr.; sisters, Tonga Hart and Aleshia Scott (Alabama); brother, Anthony Scott (Alabama); aunts, Rosa Sutton and Linda Kelly; nieces, Siedah Hart, Sikira Hart, Mountrayl Mack, Jayln Hart and Jocelyn Hart; grand-nieces, Myla Mack, Journee Hart, Milan Mack, Malayah Whitaker and Dynin Johnson; grand-nephews, Nasir Cochran, Amarion Mount, Amahd Mount, Jayceon Hart and Pharell Burney; devoted cousins, Latasha Beard, Terrance Sutton, KaJuan McCray and Anna Smith; along with other cherished cousins, friends and neighbors too numerous to list.
There will be a viewing on Friday January 14, 2022 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, Florida. Due to the current CDC restrictions; we are asking that you use the visitation as an opportunity to pay your final respect. For your convenience and safety, we have extended our visitation hours.
