Not sure what to say?

I had the pleasure of knowing Wanda as a classmate in our high school years in Flat Rock. She was always a warm, caring and humorous individual. Whenever Wanda was around you couldn’t help from smiling and laughing. She was a very special person. My sympathies and prayers to the family. May she forever RIP!

Wanda was always a breath of fresh air, with a smile ready for everyone. I had the pleasure of working with her at Michigan Medicine for many years, and in that time she became not just a colleague, but a leader, a comforter, and a friend. Wanda had a way of making what seemed like a big problem feel smaller and easier to handle. She will be deeply missed by so many. Her family was truly lucky to have her. I’m thinking of you all with heartfelt sympathy and warm regards.

I had the pleasure of knowing Wanda for 37yrs, when I got the phone call from her to come in for an interview I was so excited she hired me on the spot. She was a wonderful supervisor, friend and mentor and I always took our conversations to heart, She always gave me good advice and always made me smile when I was down. She will greatly be missed. My sympathy and prayers go out to all the family.

I had the pleasure of being Wanda's coworker and partner in crime, as we called it, for many years. Wanda was my mentor, confidant, and most importantly, my friend. Wanda was always able to give the best advice and as a result, she was sought after by so many people. I will really miss her! It is so hard for many of us to comprehend that she is gone and I can only imagine how difficult losing her is for the family; she loved you all so much! My sympathy and prayers are with you all.

I had the pleasure of having Wanda as a supervisor for many years. She was a wonderful supervisor, but even more then that a wonderful confidant and friend. I treasure our conversations over the years. Her thoughtfulness and humor always brought a smile to those who were fortunate enough to know her; she will be greatly missed. My condolences to the family.

So very sorry for your family’s loss George and Denise. Everyone is in our prayers.
Love, Deb and Lew Davis

I had the pleasure of having Wanda as a Supervisor, a coworker and most importantly as a friend. She has touched a lot of lives here over the years and will be greatly missed. My sympathies to the family.

Wanda's Obituary

Wanda Louise Corder passed away in Taylor at the age of 69.

Dearest mother of Kristina (Dan), and Ashley. Precious grandmother of Austin (April), Zavier, Nathan, Chance, Ella, Grayson and Moon. Loving sister to Ruby (The late Thomas), Caroline (John), Lynda (Larry), Charles (Micki), Virginia (Philip), George (Denise) and many other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Malinda Corder, brothers James and Richard and sisters Charlotte and Barbara.

Lovingly known as “Cookie”. She was the youngest of eleven children and grew up learning the value of hard work while working alongside her father at his gas station — something she remained very proud of throughout her life.

Cookie dedicated 42 years of service to the University of Michigan Hospital, where she was admired and respected by many. Known for her strong work ethic, she balanced being both stern and fun-loving — a combination that earned her the deep respect and affection of her colleagues and friends.

A true sports fan, Cookie loved all the Detroit teams, but especially cheered on her beloved Detroit Lions and the University of Michigan football team. Her sense of humor was infectious, and she had a wonderful gift for making everyone feel included and special.

Cookie was the grand organizer of lunch dates, get-togethers, and family reunions — always bringing people together with her warmth and laughter. She was also an avid shopper who loved a good bargain and firmly believed that you didn’t have to need something to enjoy finding it on sale. She loved to “shop until you drop”.

Above all, Cookie was a loyal friend to all — someone who made life brighter, funnier, and more meaningful just by being there.

                                                                                       She was our best friend!
