Obituary

Wanda's Obituary

Wanda Lee Leach, age 89, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at her residence near Clubb. She was born November 8, 1936, the daughter of Euel and Delia (Tibbs) Davenport.

In 1952, she married William C. Leach in Pocahontas, Arkansas; he preceded her in death on June 20, 1977. Wanda worked for many years as a cook at Clark’s Mountain Nursing Center in Piedmont. She was a devoted member of Jacktown Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of Wayne County.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Euel and Delia Davenport, one brother, Earl Ransom Davenport, and a daughter in law, Patricia Leach.

Survivors includes four children; Billy Dwayne Leach of Shiner, TX, James Lee Leach and his wife Enola of Clubb, Lisa Kay Wagner and her husband Albert of Shiner, TX, Tricia Diamond and her husband Mike of Clubb, one brother, Jerry Leon Davenport and his wife Wilma of St. Charles, one sister, Helen Shrum and her husband Jerry of Lowndes, and one sister in law, Katherine Davenport.  

Also surviving are four grandchildren; James and Sonia Leach, Jessica Leach, William and Brandi Leach, Erin and Chris Klekar, eight great grandchildren; Jalan, Billie Jean, Shianna, and Travis Leach, Preston and Whyatt Chubb, Ellasyn and Conway Klekar, along with many other family and friends. 

Visitation was held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 22, at the Morrison Funeral Chapel in Greenville. Funeral services followed at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home chapel with Bro. Kenny Burchard officiating. Special recorded songs were played for the service and Clayton Leach, James William Leach, William Leach, Chris Klekar, Michael Davenport and Gary Reeves served as Pall Bearers.

Interment was in the Camp 8 Union Grove Cemetery.
