Wanda Lottie Moody
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved grandmother, Wanda Lottie Moody, who left us peacefully at the incredible age of 100, surrounded by her loved ones.
Wanda lived a full and vibrant life, always finding joy in the simple things that made her happiest—her home, her garden, her family, and her beloved cat, Tatum. She loved tending to her yard, especially pulling weeds, staying up-to-date with fashion while shopping on QVC, and never missed her favorite evening tradition of watching Wheel of Fortune.
Her tip to a long and happy life was simple yet powerful: stay active. Living by this motto, Wanda approached each day with energy, care, and love for others. She dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Her travels took her to special places, with Hawaii always holding a piece of her heart—though she joked she could do without the long flight. In her home, she comforted us with her famous “warm Vernons and Mrs. Grass soup” whenever someone wasn’t feeling well, and treated us to her favorite dishes: cottage cheese and noodles, waffles, and her treasured golumpki.
Wanda was preceded in death by her loving husband, Roger F. Moody, and her son, Dean R. Moody. She is survived by her son Roger C. Moody and his wife, Jessica, her grandchildren Robert C. Moody, Rachel C. Moody, and Holly K. Moody, and her great-grandchildren Shelby J. Moody and Miles R. Moody.
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 12th, at Ford’s Garage, Dearborn, 6-9pm.
