Wannetta Glispie, 73 passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, November 3, 2025 surrounded by family, care givers and special friends.
Wannetta was born August 11, 1952 in Morehouse, Mo to the late Adolphus D. Howell and Cecil Doris Williams.
She was married to Larry Smith who survives of the home.
She received her primary and secondary education in the New Madrid and Scott Co. School districts and then pursued training and advanced education in the field of nursing. She worked in the medical field as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
Wannetta enjoyed crocheting, watching court TV shows and spending quality, fun time with all of the kids in the family. She had no children of her own so all of her nieces and nephews were blessed with a "Bonus Mom".
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Dorothy Mae Jones, Marcellus Howell and David Howell.
Othe survivors including her husband are Adolphus D.(Nella) Howell of Nesbit, Ms., Carolyn Wynn, Gloria Jean (Roy) Howell Moore, James (Melinda) Howell, Sharon (Taryll) Booker and Denise (Rod) McQuerter all of Sikeston, Mo. Also cherishing special times and fond memories of Wannetta is a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation and Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, Nov, 14, 2025 from 4-7 pm at the Driver Funeral Service Chapel, 523 W. Murray Lane, Sikeston, Mo.
