Not sure what to say?

I had the honor and privilege of working with Warren at WFYR in the summer of 1973. I don´t think I ever met anyone in the Broadcasting business who was more knowledgeable, talented,or as humble as Warren. I looked forward to coming to work every day as I knew I could always learn something new from him. About 10 years after I worked there, I called him one day during a layover at O´Hare and he was so happy to hear from me....amazing considering he hadn´t seen me in 10 years! Warren was a...

I met Warren through a mutual friend, "Chicago" Eddy Schwartz when I was working at WLS in the '60s. A longtime association with Warren followed and I will miss him at the various hamfests and seminars we attended. He was a great counsel on all things electronic and propagation.

One of my mentors, and one of the really Good Guys. He will be so missed.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Warrens passing. I had the privilege of working with him as his assistant at Disney ABC in Chicago for about 10 years. He was a great mentor and I learned so much from him. I truly miss working with him and the discussions we had about many topics. He knew a lot about everything. My sympathies to Donna and the family.

Donna, Lynne and Lisa,

I am so sorry to hear the news of Warren's passing. I remember his funny sense of humor and his kindness to others.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time.

I met Warren at The University of Wisconsin's Broadcasters' Clinic in the mid 70's when I was working at WNIU-FM in DeKalb, IL.

He invited me to tour his plant at WFYR in Chicago, and we had many subesquent conversations and meetings from which I learned tremendously.

When I moved to WXRT in Chicago later in the 80's, he continued to be a valued resource and advisor.

As my career path changed, we had fewer contacts but I still thought of him often.

A true loss to the broadcast engineering fraternity...

In 1983, Warren hired me as his assistant chief engineer at WFYR-FM. I learned more in two years under Warren than in all prior and subsequent years combined.

Warren was a productivity machine. Without equal, I have never met anyone who could accomplish so much in one day, every day. He was the first person in the office each day, and the last to leave. For the next thirty years, I've done my best to emulate...

Dear Shulz family,
So very sorry for the loss of Warren. Please accept my deepest sympathies and sincerest condolences. What a gracious, kind and brilliant person. Friend, teacher and mentor of the highest example. That mold is broken, there will never be another. We can only take solace in the fact he is no longer suffering. Prayers for strength during this difficult and mournful time.
God speed dear friend

I have worked with radio engineers in all across the nation. I can say with certainty that I have never run across a radio engineer that was better than Warren. He was a treasured member of the ABC Radio family. But Warren went well beyond radio in his life. His talents and sills ran across the spectrum, more so than I could have ever thought possible. And while last, but not least, he was just a fun and enjoyable guy to hang out with and shoot the breeze.
