Wayne Eugene Saunders Sr.

Wayne Eugene Saunders Sr., 77, Bicknell, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Wayne was born July 20, 1937, in Hammond, IN, the son of C. Denzil and Rosemary Saunders. He was a self employed mechanic. Wayne loved to hunt and fish and race cars.Wayne is survived by his companion, Marie Dickerson of Noble, IL; daughters, Mary R. Detty of Vincennes, Elizabeth Richardville of Vincennes, and Tammy N. Dunn of Bicknell; sons, Wayne E. Saunders Jr. of Bicknell; sisters, Linda G. Walsh of Crown Point, IN and Goldie Vavrek of Bluffton, IN; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ada O. (Bliss) Saunders in 1971; second wife, Shirley (Woolard) Saunders in 2007; daughter, Nancy Sue Miller; sister, Josephine Blackwell; and two grandchildren.There will be a visitation on Saturday, March 21, 2015 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Vincennes Chapel, 313 Church St. There will be no funeral. He will be laid to rest at Bicknell Memorial Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be sent to Good Samaritan Hospice or at www.gshvin.org.
