Wayne Spencer

Wayne F. Spencer, age 79, of Walker, MN passed away on Friday, June 13, 2014 at St. Joseph's Area Health Services in Park Rapids, MN.Wayne was born on May 2, 1935 in Cass Lake, MN to George and Mabel (Gilligan) Spencer. As a young man, Wayne moved to the Walker area and lived at the Long Lake Group Home. He was also attended the Northern Cass DAC.Wayne will be lovingly remembered by his two brothers: Willard (Vicki) Spencer of Woodburn, OR and Raymond Spencer of Philadelphia, PA; two nephews: Ken (Barbara) Grindall of Detroit Lakes, MN and Michael Spencer of Minneapolis, MN; his niece, Tammy Spencer of Minneapolis; as well as his caregivers and friends at the Long Lake Group Home who will miss his wonderful smile.Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Yoma Grindall, Dolly Ross and Agnes Anderson; and his brother, Elmer Spencer.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at the Dennis Funeral Home in Walker with Father Francis Kabiru officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Walker, MN.
