Wesley Compton, Jr., 78, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 19, 2019. He was born March 1, 1940, in Port Barre, LA., to the late Wesley Compton, Sr., and Nellie Osborne Compton. Wesley loved to dress as a cowboy and was fondly known as "Cowboy Wesley,". He was a self-employed welder.
His memory will be cherished by his brothers, James Compton Sr. of Lake Charles, LA, Martin Compton of Baton Rouge, LA, and Leo Compton of Ft. Worth, TX; his sisters, Camille Courtright of Lithia Springs, GA, Dorothy Compton-Boyd (Vivian) of DeQuincy, LA and Betty Rose Compton of Honolulu, HI, his daughter Michelle, stepdaughters, Sharon (Samson) Guillory and Pam Menard both of Lake Charles, LA along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Wesley was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley Compton Sr., and Nellie Osborne Compton; one brother, Lawrence Compton and his wife, Fran Compton.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at King’s Funeral Home.
