Willa Dean Smith
Frankenmuth, MI
Passed away peacefully Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Wellspring Lutheran Home after a lengthy illness; age 82 years. Willa Dean was born on October 5, 1943, in Cookeville, TN to the late John and Louise Spivey. She was married to Michael Smith; he predeceased her.
Willa Dean was employed by Bavarian Inn Motor Lodge until her retirement. She enjoyed knitting, growing flowers, crossword puzzles, birdwatching, and spending time outdoors.
Surviving are: two daughters, Alisa Truett of Cheboygan, MI and Suzanne (Mike) Arnold-Nellett of Vassar, MI; grandson Michael (Emily) Tausch; two granddaughters, Melissa (Tony) Chinery and Karissa (Rich) Ferguson; eight great-grandchildren; sister Dorothy “Jean” Howell; and special friend William “Ben” Kohn.
Willa Dean was preceded in death by a daughter, Annette Robinson-Green.
Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. Frankenmuth, MI. According to Willa Dean’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Willa Dean’s family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday, November 22nd from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Wellspring Lutheran Services.
