Willard Ray Asberry, age 75, passed away Wednesday, February 18th, at his home in Piedmont. He was born in Ellington, MO on August 20, 1950, a son of Jay and Ruth (Tucker) Asberry.
Willard was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in St. Louis and was a Navy veteran. He was marrried to Retha Goggin April 16, 1977 in St. Louis. A long time resident of Piedmont, Willard worked as a carpet cleaner and at the Onion Ring factory.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Jay and Ruth Asberry.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Retha Asberry, of the home, three sons David Asberry and his wife Cindy, of West Plains, MO; Tim Asberry, of Piedmont; Joel Asberry, of Piedmont; five sisters, Brenda Lenhardt and her husband Ron, of Sierra Vista, AZ; Susan Chapman, of Arnold, MO; Marie Stratman and her husband Jerry, of St. Louis, MO; Rada Hardin and her husband Brad, of Sierra Vista, AZ; Lola Palmer and her husband Stan, of St. Genevieve, MO.; two brothers, Albert Asberry and his wife Ginny, of Desoto, MO; and Sam Asberry and his wife Janice, of OFallon, MO; In addition, he is survived by one grandchild, Kinsley Asberry, many nieces and nephews, and other family and friends.
Visitation was held Tuesday, February 24th, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Morrison Funeral Chapel in Piedmont. Funeral services followed at 1:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home chapel with Bro. Richard Sanders officiating. Sam Asberry gave tribute and special recorded songs were played for the service. Neal DeSpain, Greg DeSpain, Al Asberry, Sam Asberry, Frank Novy, and Dwight Staats served as Pall Bearers and Military Honors were given by the United States Navy. Interment was in the Santhuff Cemetery near Ellington.
