Rest peacefully Willie. We had some great times. You were an inspiration to many.

I to shared quite a few old styles with Bill. Been trying to find him,since he worked at home depot YOU are greatly missed Bill.Rest in peace.If any of you want to reflect about Bill call me 630542 6814 Thank you all for taking your time and reflecting.

I'm am so sorry to hear about this news. He was always a very kind person and was always willing to go out of his way to have a conversation with you. Our prayers go out to you and your family.

I was surprised to hear about Bill’s passing. We shared a lot of laughs and a lot of “Old Styles” together, back in the day. My comfort to family and friends. Bless his soul. JK

In loving memory of Bill though I didn’t know him long, his kindness and warmth left a lasting impression. I believe his spirit lives on in the love he shared. He’ll be deeply missed. My thoughts are with the Hansen and Grieve families.

William "Bill"'s Obituary

William “Bill” Joseph Hansen

 

William “Bill” Joseph Hansen. 68 of McHenry, IL. Passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Good Shepard Hospital.  He was born December 28, 1956, in Elgin, IL. And was the son of Harold and Victoria (Workowski) Hansen, both deceased.

Bill graduated from St. Edward Catholic High School in 1975.  Previously divorced, he spent the last 20 years with his partner, Debra Grieve.  The two of them worked together as a team being involved with Carpentry, Handyman Services, Stained Glass & Woodwork, Gardening and Commissioned Projects.

Bill was a gentle soul with a big heart and helped raise Debbie’s children, Ben Grieve, Alex Grieve and Becky Grieve.  He brought so much joy to all who had the opportunity to know him.

He is survived by his partner of 20 years, Debra Grieve in McHenry.  Other survivors include his siblings: Barb Petersen in Burlington, Diane Sheppard in Wisconsin, Mary Hansen in Sycamore, David (Rosemary) Hansen in Hampshire, Janice (Rich) Baumgartner in Elgin and Joni (Tracy) Hansen-Bird in Tennessee.

He was preceded in death not only by his parents, but also by his brother-in-law, Terry Petersen.

A Celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
