William Alvin “Bill” Mann, 82, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at his residence in Franklin, IN.
He was born on March 3, 1936 in Shelby County, IN to James William and Emma Louise (Gill) Mann. He married Dona Joyce Mann. She preceded him in passing. Survivors include his son Gary Mann (Becky); Peggy Mann; and Julie Allen (Jeff); brothers, Paul Mann (Kay); Larry Mann (Pam); sister- in-law Saralee Mann; 6 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in passing by his parents; wife Dona; grandson Jason Mann; sister Nellie Trobaugh (Don); and brother, Robert “Bob” Mann.
Bill was a graduate of Franklin Community High School.
He was employed by Cummins Engine in Columbus for 42 years.
Bill was a member of the Second Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and also a member of the Johnson County Shrine Club, Franklin Masonic Lodge No. 107, F & A M; and the Johnson County Antique Machinery Association.
He was an avid fan of IU basketball. He very much enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Rev. Charles McDaniel will conduct a service on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 7:00pm at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin, IN 46131. Friends may call from 4:00pm until the service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Second Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Riley Hospital for Children, 30 S. Meridian Street, Ste. 200, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204-3509.
