Not sure what to say?

Bill was a fun loving and very good tenor with the Nashua Choral Society. I sang with Bill for many years. We enjoyed sharing that we both came from Maryland. He will be missed.

Bill was a wonderful tenor for so many years in the Nashua Choral Society, his clear voice brought so much to the Chorus. His bright smile and easy manor made him popular with all with whom he sang. We miss him very much and pray for peace and understanding for him and his family.

Bill was my CO in late 80s while I was pursuing a commission as an LDO. It was both his mentorship and endorsement that got me over the final hurdle to achieve one of my career milestones of going from enlist to officer ranks. I fondly remember seeing him in a couple of plays and marveled at this other dimension of his many talents. After reconnecting with him through SNA, I am grateful I was able to tell him personally that it was his influence that encouraged me to seek a commission. I...

great guy

Bill was my Commanding Officer for a time in the Naval Reserve (Millitary Sealift Command). During an international war game exercise in Rotterdam we worked 24/7. When it was time to brief Flag Officers in Washington, Bill distilled and communicated what we had done with clarity and grace. He made us all look good and appreciated. He was an exemplarty leader and became a good friend.

Mr. Mauser was a kind man and neighbor during my childhood. I am so sorry for the loss of his wonderful light in this world.

He was born on March 6, 1942, in Hyattsville, MD, son of the late Katherine Ann Nixon Mauser and Daniel Mauser. Bill was a proud alumnus of Gonzaga College High School and Georgetown University, both in Washington, DC. He relocated to Boston to earn his master’s degree from Boston University, working for many years in marketing for computer software firms, most notably Digital Equipment Corporation in Merrimack, NH. Bill was also a 27-year veteran of the United States Navy, reaching the rank of captain for the US Navy Reserves. He retired aboard the USS Constitution in Boston, and afterward served in many roles, including president, with the Surface Navy Association’s USS Constitution Chapter.

Bill was best known for his easy-going nature, sense of humor and devotion to his family. He was long a vibrant presence in his community, acting in numerous local theater productions, singing tenor in the Nashua Choral Society, and as an avid golfer in local leagues, especially proud of his hole-in-one at Buckmeadow Golf Club in Amherst, NH.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 53 years, Christine (Walsh) Mauser, of Hudson, NH; his two sons and daughters-in-law, Evan Mauser and Minky Hyun of Wakefield, MA, and Brett and Allison Mauser of Stony Brook, NY; his five cherished grandchildren, Zachary, Haley, Liam, Edith and Isaac Mauser; his three siblings, sisters Katherine Baron of Tampa, FL, and Clare Gorman of Rehoboth Beach, DE, and brother Frederick Mauser of Ocean View, DE; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and four siblings, Margaret Boyer, Marie Dabbs, Daniel Mauser and Jerome Mauser.

Bill will be forever remembered as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. A memorial visitation will be held on Monday September 15th, 2025, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the Rivet Funeral Home located at 425 Daniel Webster Highway in Merrimack, NH.
