Not sure what to say?

God Bless , Rest in Peace

Bill was a fantastic "Partner in Crime" @ P&G. He had the kindest soul of all and I thank my lucky stars I had the privilege of working with him for many years. Such a sweet, sweet man.

Bill was a great person. Quiet angel to many in need. We will miss him!

Bill is the son of one of my best friends and the best neighbors in the world, Gerry and Bill. He was kind enough to share his Dad with me for years. He was always kind to me and truly, truly was one of a kind. He loved his parents, his wife, his siblings, family and friends. I cherish my friendship with the Travers family and will always remember Bill with great fondness.

FOR CHERRY"
This is Linda I used to live on 7th street in the Northeast Area. I used to sell Avon to you and I also took care of "Bimbo" your cat when you and Bill went on vacation. I'am very sorry to hear about Bill. I also lost my husband in 2015 and I also miss my husband very much and he will always be in my heart forever just like Bill is in your heat forever. Take care of yourself and always remember how much he loved you.

William "Bill"'s Obituary

William John “Bill” Travers Jr. passed away on August 7, 2025, at the age of 71. He was born on January 8, 1954, at Fairchild Air Force Base near Spokane, Washington, to the late William and Geraldine (née Lis) Travers.

Born into an Air Force family, Bill’s early years were marked by travel and adaptability, living in various locations including England, Mississippi, North Carolina, and Illinois. These formative experiences helped shape the thoughtful, worldly, and compassionate man he became.

In 1979, Bill married the love of his life, Cherry, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned 46 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with love, mutual respect, and shared purpose.

Bill worked for many years at Folgers Coffee in Kansas City and later at Procter & Gamble before retiring in 2012. In retirement, he gave generously of his time and talents, volunteering at the Don Bosco Center where he taught English to immigrants and helped many earn their food handlers licenses—an effort that deeply reflected his quiet commitment to uplifting others.

A natural connector, Bill was a beloved friend to many and played an instrumental role as an organizer and active member of the Folgers Kansas City Alumni Group. His warmth, kindness, and sense of humor will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Bill is survived by his wife, Cherry Travers; his five siblings: Fr. Pat (Alaska), John (Illinois), Tom (Oregon), Lisa (Illinois), and Lynn (Wisconsin); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was deeply loved and will be forever remembered.

As Cherry shared, “Bill was the greatest guy in the world, and I loved him with all my heart. He will be with me forever.”

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 16, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family are warmly invited to attend and celebrate Bill’s life.
