What a great guy! That is what every person that meets Bill always said. He raised amazing children and was a loving husband to Kristen. I will miss him dearly.

I am so very sorry to hear this terrible news. My heart and prayers are with you all. I will always remember your family times at " the parents" on the river. And Bill's beautiful slate floors at my house in Cotati. Love to all of you.

William Harry Boyd died on January 7, 2025, from lung cancer, surrounded by his loving family in their home. He was born on September 15, 1964, the middle child of Peggy Sue (née Rushing) and Robert Allen Boyd. He married Kristen Elizabeth Irving on September 15, 1990. He is survived by his wife, children-William Robert (partner Elizabeth Sonnichsen) and Shannon Christina-and his father, siblings, nieces, and nephews.
Bill, aka "Billy" was a journeyman tile setter and contractor with over 40 years in the tile industry. He owned his own business since 2003. Known for his commitment to quality, he was proud to live up to his catchphrase, "Work You Will Recommend." His craftsmanship can be found in countless homes, restaurants, commercial properties, and wineries.
A devoted family man, Bill was deeply proud of his wife and children and remained close to his brothers, Michael Alan Boyd (Carla Jean née Millerick) and Charles Thomas Boyd, and his blended siblings. Bill was a passionate supporter of his son's sailing and kayaking pursuits. Together, they raced Hobie Catamarans and enjoyed fishing local ponds, bays, and the ocean. Bill was always first to volunteer to help with any task, especially when it came to supporting Shannon's love of ballet, assisting with set construction and materials. He also served his community as a member of the local sailing club, including several years as Commodore. He coached Little League and soccer, and encouraged his children in every interest they pursued. Bill was the inspiration behind his daughter's decision to pursue a doctorate in physical therapy. He was immensely proud of his son for opening the local Hobie franchise, a boat business that celebrates their shared passion for water sports and fishing.
Above all, Bill loved his family and community. He will be remembered for his kindness, good humor, and willingness to lend a hand to all.
Friends and family are invited to funeral services on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Pleasant Hills Memorial Park in Sebastopol at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, please support local businesses as Bill always did. (Buy a kayak!)
