William's Obituary

William T. Early, Sr., 82, of Ashburn, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025, in Leesburg, VA.

Born on February 19, 1943 in Wilson, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Joseph Andrew Early and Margaret Lee Early. After graduating from Oscar Smith High School in South Norfolk, VA, he began a career at Sears and Roebuck before entering restaurant management. Later in life, he changed professions once more, returning to school and graduating from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Atlanta, GA. Bill was a funeral director at funeral homes in Virginia Beach and Northern Virginia.

In retirement, Bill enjoyed gardening, photography and participating in the Leesburg Moose Lodge and Senior Center of Leesburg, eventually holding several board positions. His greatest joy was in his church fellowship. He enjoyed singing in the Arcola Methodist and Harmony Methodist church choirs. Over the years he was a member of numerous bible studies and small groups, most recently attending Christian Fellowship Church.

His spirituality, care for others, sense of humor, and love for family are what he will be remembered and missed for.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Mae Early. He is survived by his children: his son, Tom Early and daughter-in-law, Samantha Early of Virginia Beach, VA; his daughter, Beth Jinright and her fiancé, Brian Pretlow of Rappahannock, VA; and his daughter, Laurel Quinn Allen and son-in-law, Joel Allen of Ashburn, VA; as well as his partner, Jill Anderson of Leesburg, VA. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Road NE in Leesburg, VA on September 18, 2025, at 11:00 am.
